Whether edge protection profiles, rubber buffers, T-handles, or other products from the NOVOnox hygienic line – all materials used and designs meet the strict requirements of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and guarantee safety and quality for the user.

KIPP develops products that are not only high-quality and functional but also comply with the high hygienic and safety standards of the FDA. Especially in food processing, it is important that all materials and designs used meet these requirements to best protect consumer health.

Edge protection profiles – protection, hygiene, and cleanliness

The edge protection (K2238) and edge protection sealing profiles (K2239) made of silicone with integrated stainless steel clamp from KIPP ensure that edges are protected, deburred, and sensitive areas are hygienically sealed. They minimize the risk of injury and provide a stable barrier against dust, dirt, moisture, and other environmental influences. The FDA-compliant blue silicone rubber (VMQ) has a hardness of 60° +/-5 Shore A and is suitable for temperatures from -50 to +200 °C. Stainless steel 1.4301 is used for the clamp insert.

Rubber buffers – reliable damping for a long machine life

To protect equipment and surfaces, KIPP offers FDA-compliant rubber buffers (K2233, K2234, and K2235) in various designs, optionally with internal or external thread. The buffers absorb shocks and minimize damage to machines and systems in hygiene-sensitive areas without compromising product safety. The blue silicone used has a hardness of 55° Shore A and can be used within a temperature range of -30 to +180 °C. The metal parts are made of stainless steel 1.4401.

T-handles – ergonomics meets hygiene

The ergonomically designed T-handles (K1515) made of stainless steel from KIPP enable safe handling of machines and devices wherever hygiene and user-friendliness are of utmost importance. The T-handles are made of polished stainless steel 1.4404 and are available with internal or external thread. Their particularly smooth surface prevents deposits and allows easy cleaning. The handles can be combined with sealing and washer discs from the Hygienic USIT® series (K1491).

The FDA is one of the most important authorities worldwide for food safety and consumer protection. Its strict regulations specify which materials and products are suitable for direct contact with food. Particularly relevant for KIPP products is the FDA standard 21 CFR 177.2600. This defines the requirements for plastics such as silicone used in food processing. Compliance with these standards ensures that no harmful substances can transfer into food.
