The family-owned company halstrup-walcher from Kirchzarten near Freiburg is expanding its management team as of October 2012. CEO Jürgen Walcher is adding Christian Sura (Sales) and Jens Amberg (Marketing, Research and Development) to his leadership team. This move positions the specialist in pressure measurement technology for further international growth. Additionally, this personnel decision creates the structural conditions for the long-standing CEO, Dietmar Jobst, responsible for Human Resources, Controlling, and Finance, to retire next year.

"We want to strengthen our competitiveness, so we will expand our sales and simultaneously professionalize our marketing," says Jürgen Walcher. With Jens Amberg, Walcher has brought in a recognized expert in marketing and development in the field of measurement technology, especially pressure measurement technology, into his team. The 45-year-old graduate industrial engineer (TU) previously worked for companies such as Endress + Hauser and Testo AG. He will also take on responsibility for the Research & Development department.

Christian Sura, a graduate engineer with 23 years at halstrup-walcher and most recently Sales Director, is moving into the management team. He is tasked with a comprehensive expansion of sales both in Germany and in many international growth markets. CEO Jürgen Walcher remains responsible for Production, Logistics, and Quality. Additionally, in March 2013, he will take over the areas of Human Resources, Controlling, and Finance from Dietmar Jobst.

"We have secured a very attractive niche as a customer-specific OEM developer and variant manufacturer in a market that is otherwise dominated by many large players," explains Walcher about the decision. "To secure and expand this position, we want to continue growing long-term. With the expanded management team, we have the necessary resources and a lot of expertise on board to successfully drive all relevant changes simultaneously."

halstrup-walcher GmbH, with over 120 employees, is one of the leading providers in the field of differential pressure measurement technology. The company demonstrates particular strengths in the area of very low pressures in the Pa range (cleanroom technology, etc.). In this area, both state-of-the-art measuring transducers and compact pressure calibration devices are offered. Furthermore, halstrup-walcher is characterized by high flexibility regarding customer-specific variants. This expertise is complemented by an in-house DAkkS laboratory for pressure measurement technology.
