To reliably convey workpieces in slow-speed applications, high-precision valve solutions such as SMC's throttle check valves are used. The automation specialist has expanded its portfolio with the series AS-FM/FC and AS-FSM/FSC, which offer finer adjustment and higher accuracy of the drive speed – providing more power for a broader range of applications.

The leading manufacturer, partner, and solution provider for pneumatic and electrical automation technology, SMC, has developed powerful and precise throttle check valves specifically for slow-speed applications with the series AS-FM/FC and AS-FSM/FSC. They enable both finer adjustment and higher accuracy of the drive speed for accurate and repeatable conveying. The new models expand the scope of application and offer pinpoint performance improvements compared to previous models.

Quickly ready for slow-speed operation

Designed for slow-speed cylinders, the series AS-FM/FC and AS-FSM/FSC are ideal for controlling low speeds from 1 to 50 mm/s, and the series AS-FC from 50 to 150 mm/s (recommended control ranges). All models in these series feature a manually operated pressure lock adjustment knob for easy and quick setting/locking as usual. This reduces the workload and allows for cost savings. The series AS-FSM/FSC also includes an integrated digital display, enabling visual flow control and faster setup.

All in view for error-free assembly

In terms of assembly and operational safety, the series AS-FM/FC and AS-FSM/FSC continue to showcase the strengths of SMC's throttle check valves: users have a total of four orientations for the indicator window in the AS-FSM/FSC series. Additionally, the series allows immediate and secure identification of usable hoses at a glance. This is ensured by the color-coded markings for inch sizes (orange pressure ring) and metric sizes (gray pressure ring), helping to prevent assembly errors and offering increased safety.

A valve for versatile use

As usual, thanks to a broad product range, SMC offers users high flexibility in design with the series AS-FM/FC and AS-FSM/FSC: the models are available in angled, universal, or straight configurations; the latter can also be combined in block mounting. Additionally, users can choose between intake throttle or exhaust throttle, as well as thread sealing or optional flange sealing. Finally, both the AS-FM/FC and AS-FSM/FSC series are available as cleanroom versions, without check valves, with lubricants, or as grease-free special equipment.
