The Kögel GmbH, specialist for cleaning baskets and load carriers, has expanded its modular workpiece carrier system Techtray. The innovative plastic system is now available in different sizes and with even more partitioning options. Users can securely, gently, and flexibly fix all types of components – horizontally and also vertically across multiple levels. In industrial parts cleaning and workpiece logistics, Techtray ensures optimal results through its numerous openings and rounded edges. This makes the system suitable for all processes along the entire logistics chain.

Sensitive industries such as medical technology, mechatronics, microelectronics, or precision engineering set high requirements for workpiece carriers: They should be easy and reliable to handle both manually and automatically, and protect their contents from damage. At the same time, they must enable optimal flow of cleaning media during industrial component cleaning, which is a central part of many production and assembly processes. Part-specific carriers are used, which fix the workpieces in a specific position and at specific points. The basis often consists of punched metal sheets that can be adapted to the shape and size of the components with various accessories. However, this system has significant disadvantages: large surfaces restrict the flow of cleaning media and can unintentionally shield during ultrasonic cleaning. Additionally, dirt and liquid residues can accumulate in the corners and edges.

Proven system with new features

To address this, Kögel GmbH developed an intelligent solution in cooperation with Fries Kunststofftechnik and successfully established it on the market: the workpiece carrier system Techtray. It allows for the attachment of continuous frames and various compartment dividers, which can be optimally adjusted to the size of the components to be processed. For precise positioning, plastic or metal pins are available, which can be attached either via a plug-in system or a bayonet lock on the base plate.

Kögel has now further expanded the successful Techtray system: The workpiece carriers are available in different sizes up to 600 x 400 millimeters. This makes Techtray ideal for use in storage and stacking boxes, cleaning baskets, small load carriers, and other transport containers. The customizable trays enable the storage and transport of even sensitive and demanding components. Kögel also supplies the plastic bases with precisely milled openings upon request. This allows workpieces to be securely fixed in three dimensions across multiple levels. The pins can also serve as spacers between individual carriers if needed.

Flexibly adaptable to any requirement

In addition, Kögel offers a wide range of accessories to optimally position different workpieces on the trays. All parts can be easily assembled, disassembled, and reconfigured without tools. With a grid size of only 9.5 x 9.5 millimeters, countless variants are possible – making the Techtray system extremely flexible for all conceivable applications. The trays can be used in standard baskets, in compartment rack systems, or as standalone workpiece carriers. Users can also easily combine the new Techtray solutions with existing carrier systems from Kögel or various small load carriers.
