When precision meets ergonomics, a workplace is created that sets standards. The long-standing partnership between the Finnish workspace expert Treston and the Essen-based pump specialist Schwarzer Precision demonstrates impressively how well-thought-out workspace solutions can increase efficiency, quality, and employee satisfaction.

Challenge: Customized solutions for high-precision manufacturing

Schwarzer Precision has been developing and manufacturing miniature and micro pumps since 1970 for demanding applications in medical, analysis, and security technology. The wide product variety and flexible batch sizes required a realignment of assembly processes — with a focus on ergonomics, modularity, and ESD protection.

Solution: Modular Concept tables

In close collaboration with Treston sales manager Dirk Stiepelmann, the assembly workstations were completely redesigned. Concept tables, which impress with stability, expandability, and ESD protection, were used. Each assembly line consists of four individually adjustable workstations and a separate inspection table for final quality control and digital documentation. The new workstations not only enable ergonomic work but also reduce space requirements and increase productivity.

“Treston has implemented the optimal solution with its products — everything from planning to commissioning was professional and smooth,” emphasizes Gregor Kaminski, Production Manager at Schwarzer Precision.

Lean production and ESD protection for increased process security

By consistently applying lean production principles, standardized workflows were created, throughput times reduced, and process security improved.

Another focus was ESD protection (Electrostatic Discharge). Treston’s ESD version of the Concept tables ensures a controlled working environment by safely dissipating static charges, reliably protecting sensitive electronic components.

Cleanroom according to ISO-8: Cleanliness meets functionality

Another highlight of the collaboration was equipping a new cleanroom according to DIN EN 14644 ISO-8. Schwarzer Precision also relied on Treston here — with work surfaces that are particle-free, easy to clean, and modularly adaptable. The project was completed within six months from planning to commissioning.

Sustainable success: Follow-up orders confirm customer satisfaction

The partnership between Treston and Schwarzer Precision has been ongoing for many years and continues to grow. Since the first project in 2021, another assembly line has been realized annually with Treston — a clear sign of satisfaction and trust in the partnership.
