In the manufacturing chain, the quality of processes such as coating, bonding, welding, and assembly critically depends on the cleanliness of the components. Therefore, component cleaning must ensure that the respective cleanliness requirements are achieved consistently and cost-effectively. The fundamental seminar "Quality Assurance in Component Cleaning" imparts the necessary knowledge in theory and practice. The event for employee qualification is organized by the Professional Association for Industrial Component Cleaning (FiT) e.V. on December 1 and 2, 2021, in Frankenthal.

In the manufacturing process chain, component cleaning is a quality-determining step across all industrial sectors, which has gained enormous importance. The technical cleaning expertise of employees is therefore a crucial component to ensure the cleanliness of components required for subsequent processes such as coating, bonding, heat treatment, welding, and assembly—not only reliably but also economically—thus avoiding costly rework or even scrap. Since this know-how is not typically covered in vocational training or university studies, significant knowledge gaps often exist in this area. The "Quality Assurance in Component Cleaning" basic seminar offered by the Professional Association for Industrial Part Cleaning (FiT) e.V. provides a suitable qualification solution for personnel in this field. The event, conducted by fairXperts GmbH & Co. KG, takes place on December 1 and 2, 2021, in Frankenthal, Rhineland-Palatinate. To maximize learning success, participation is limited to 40 persons.

Understand, Design, and Master Cleaning Processes

In this seminar, experienced experts from the cleaning industry will present the fundamentals of how component cleanliness can be achieved stably and efficiently through effective quality control, optimized procedures, and plant technology.

The topics of the theoretical part are:

- Quality assurance in component cleaning
- Chemistry of the cleaning process: aqueous and solvent-based
- Procedures and plant technology: aqueous and solvent-based
- Ultrasonic cleaning technology
- Design and batch sizing of components for cleaning, load carriers
- Guidelines and procedures – recommendations for users
- Procedures and plant technology: bath maintenance and media preparation
- Monitoring of process media
- Inspection of component cleanliness

In the practical sessions, the effects of cleaning mechanisms will be demonstrated, and solutions for their practical and effective use will be shown. Participants will also learn about proven measuring devices and procedures and their application in everyday practice. Topics of the practical sessions include:

- Ultrasound
- Chemistry: emulsifying, demulsifying
- Selection of the cleaning concept
- Checking component cleanliness – film contaminants
- Checking component cleanliness – particulate contaminants
- Surfactant control with bubble pressure tensiometers
- Builder control with ultrasonic sensors

This program is aimed at specialists and managers from development and design, technology and production planning, manufacturing, and quality assurance. The targeted industries include the automotive industry, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering and electronics, precision mechanics, optics, surface and coating technology, medical technology, and other sectors where component cleanliness is a quality criterion.
