ENGEL expands its proven range of fully electric injection molding machines with the new e-mac 500, which will premiere at Fakuma 2024. The new size extends the compact e-mac series portfolio upwards. With a clamping force of 5000 kN, the e-mac 500 combines high performance, energy efficiency, and a compact design that meets the requirements of modern production environments.

The showcased e-mac 500 (Image 1) features the new HIGH clamping drive, which, in combination with a sealed toggle mechanism, enables particularly fast and stable cycle times. This drive was developed to bridge the gap between standard and high-performance applications. This performance is complemented by the digital assistance system iQ motion control, which automatically adjusts the optimal acceleration of the moving platen to the weight of the tool. This combination sets new standards in the industry by significantly reducing cycle times and lowering energy consumption by approximately 30% compared to hybrid or hydraulic injection molding machines. This makes the e-mac 500 especially suitable for energy-intensive production processes where efficiency and precision are of great importance.

The machine also impresses with its compact design, which requires very little space despite its powerful features. For special applications, ENGEL offers optional expansion packages, including solutions for thin-wall injection molding and use in cleanrooms. The versatility and high performance of the e-mac 500 will be demonstrated at Fakuma through a live showcase, where a tool with two cavities produces 4-liter containers with In-Mould Labeling in just 8 seconds per cycle. In automation, components from ENGEL's subsidiary TMA, including a viper linear robot, will be used (Image 2).

With the new e-mac 500, ENGEL emphasizes its position as a technology leader and demonstrates how cutting-edge technology and intelligent assistance systems can make plastics processing more efficient and sustainable. This machine offers an excellent price-performance ratio and is a future-proof solution for companies seeking maximum efficiency in production.
