EMERSON opens new company building for medical technology and proportional technology from ASCO

Emerson Automation Solutions, a globally leading company in industrial automation technology, has inaugurated a new building in Ölbronn-Dürrn, Baden-Württemberg. The site in the Northern Black Forest is Emerson's Center of Excellence for the development and manufacturing of miniature valves for analysis and medical technology as well as for industrial proportional valve technology. Additionally, customized valves and customer-specific solutions are developed there according to client requirements.

David Farr, CEO and Chairman of Emerson, symbolically cut the ribbon with Norbert Holme, the mayor of the municipality of Ölbronn-Dürrn, and celebrated the official opening of the new building with Manish Bhandari, President of Fluid and Motion Control worldwide, Jean-Louis Tenu, President of Fluid and Motion Control EMEA, and other high-ranking guests.

"The visit of the CEO of Emerson for the opening celebrations at the Ölbronn-Dürrn site is a great honor for us," reports site manager Peter Appel. "This significant investment confirms our important role for customers in analysis, medical, and automation technology. It makes us very proud."

The state-of-the-art production building is equipped with a 720-square-meter cleanroom that meets ISO Class 8 requirements, as well as an additional 740 square meters of office space. In total, around 100 employees from research, development, and production have moved into their workplaces in the new building.

Many of the companies using ASCO products are looking for customer-specific solutions that meet their increasing demands for process engineering and production processes through modern, forward-looking technologies.

For example, by using customized "Plug & Play" solutions, these increase value for ASCO's customers as individual valves, inline manifolds, or complete assemblies. The trend and potential for optimization lie in increasingly smaller, lighter, energy-saving, and smarter products, also in connection with Industry 4.0 topics. As part of a new development, the weight of a mobile ventilator manufacturer’s product was significantly reduced while simultaneously improving its performance. This increases comfort during use and enhances the quality of patient care.

Exactly 50 years ago, Emerson first became active in the German market. The new Center of Excellence completes the presence at the Germany site in Hasselroth, Wessling, Gronau, Selmsdorf, Willich, Dietzenbach, and Ölbronn-Dürrn. Since 1984, ASCO has been part of the global Emerson Group. ASCO products are manufactured at production sites in seven European countries and in 16 countries worldwide.
