Efficient down to the detail
PIA Automation at Automatica 2023
After just one year, the exhibition grounds in Munich will once again serve as a magnifying glass for the future of automation and robotics. How this is made efficient, intelligent, and digital is demonstrated by PIA Automation at booth 302 in hall A6 at Automatica 2023 (June 27 to 30, 2023). In addition to information on the latest manufacturing technologies and process procedures, the new Maintenance App can also be experienced there: it makes maintenance of assembly and testing equipment more comfortable and helps users keep track of upcoming maintenance work.
The Maintenance App is integrated into the PIA Industrial App Suite, a modular software package with extensive functionalities for production, maintenance, and quality managers. The solutions of the App Suite collect data from assembly lines and provide important insights based on this data to optimize production processes. The new Maintenance App fits seamlessly into this: it is installed locally on the customer's system, runs browser-based, and makes it easy for users to keep an overview of upcoming or overdue maintenance tasks for their equipment – a crucial efficiency advantage compared to other solutions that are often still paper-based.
PIA Automation also emphasizes efficiency in presenting the exhibition content: in compact live talks at the booth, PIA experts showcase current products, case studies, and trends related to automated manufacturing processes. These include not only the economic viability of production for increasingly complex products but also, for example, the multifaceted topic of sustainability. PIA supports its customers in designing future-proof production facilities – from planning through commissioning to maintenance. The automation experts start early in the development phase: virtual processes replace resource-intensive and costly real tests, reducing the costs of a system even before it is built.
The different products produced on PIA systems are also showcased at the exhibition booth. The portfolio ranges from microcomponents in the fields of industrial and consumer goods as well as medical devices, to heavyweight products in automotive and e-mobility. Exhibits include, among others, touch displays for household appliances or vehicles, which are manufactured automatically and reliably on PIA systems with high cycle times. Interested visitors can also learn about the production of battery modules for electric cars, insulin pens, or attachment brushes for electric toothbrushes at the PIA booth in hall A6.
