Economic processing of old emulsions - oil-containing process waters

The treatment of old emulsions or oil-containing process waters is very complex and costly. The goal is to separate oily and volatile substances (hydrocarbons, etc.) as well as CSB-formers from the water and to produce as little waste as possible.

As an alternative to previously common methods, such as thermal treatment (evaporator technology), AQON offers the so-called EMU-CLEAN process.

It is based on the fully automatic, organic splitting of emulsions with optional post-treatment of the split water (clear water).

The economic advantages:

- The separated oil phase can be reused as a valuable material, with the water content typically below 5%
- No waste concentrate is produced that needs to be disposed of at high cost
- The split water can be freed from solids, hydrocarbons, other volatile substances, and CSB-formers through an optional filtration technology, so it can either be discharged into the sewer system or recycled as pure water back into the production process
