ebm-papst will represent Germany at the "World Entrepreneur Of The Year"

Great joy at ebm-papst over winning the "Best Entrepreneur of Germany" award.

With pride and great joy, Gerhard Sturm, founder and chairman of the advisory board, Ralf Sturm, shareholder and member of the advisory board, and Stefan Brandl, CEO of the ebm-papst Group, received the renowned award EY Entrepreneur Of The Year™ in the "Established Companies" category for ebm-papst last evening. This award recognizes the best owner-managed, medium-sized companies in Germany, with the auditing and consulting firm EY honoring them for the 24th time. Additionally, ebm-papst Germany will be represented at the "World Entrepreneur Of The Year" next year in Monte Carlo.

In the second category, "Young Companies," the Industry 4.0 company ASCon Systems GmbH from Stuttgart was awarded.

For the first time, the winners were announced at a virtual ceremony hosted by news anchor Judith Rakers.

This year, 19 companies reached the final. An independent jury nominated entrepreneurs for the "EY Entrepreneur Of The Year 2020" award. The focus of the evaluation was on entrepreneurship, innovation strength, and personal commitment.

In the laudation for ebm-papst, Hartmut Jenner, CEO of Kärcher, highlighted the successful development of the ebm-papst Group. Over 20 products from the world’s leading manufacturer of fans and motors can now be found in every household. ebm-papst is present wherever it is about moving air intelligently and quietly, making drives precise, and heating systems highly efficient, or electronically cooling precisely. The focus is on the perfect interplay of motor and airflow technology as well as electronics. With 20,000 active products, the company offers a solution for practically every task in the field of air and drive technology.

The company ebm (Elektrobau Mulfingen GmbH & Co. KG) was founded in 1963 by Gerhard Sturm and Heinz Ziehl and initially focused on the production of small external rotor motors, Jenner continued. The "Entrepreneur Of The Year" program was launched in 1986 by EY in the USA. Since then, the competition has established itself in 60 countries and is one of the most renowned entrepreneur awards worldwide. In Germany, the competition is held for the 24th time this year and is supported by renowned companies and media. These include LGT, the strategic corporate consulting firm Kekst CNC, the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, and Manager Magazin. In addition to recognizing successful entrepreneurial personalities, EY also promotes entrepreneurial talent through the "EY NextGen Academy" program.
