ebm-papst strengthens US business with second location

With a second US production site, ebm-papst is strengthening its business activities in the North American market. In Johnson City, in the US state of Tennessee, the world market leader for fans and motors will now manufacture fans for cooling, air conditioning, and ventilation applications. To do this, ebm-papst is currently acquiring an existing production building and will begin series production in September 2019.

In the industrial park near Johnson City, the fan specialist has also acquired a 12-hectare plot of land to build a new plant in a second step. Over the next five years, ebm-papst plans to invest around USD 37 million (EUR 33 million) in this project and employ up to 200 staff.

ebm-papst already has a long tradition in the American market. Since 1980, the family-owned company from Farmington (Connecticut) has been developing, manufacturing, and selling fans and motors for the North American market, employing over 300 people there. In addition to a technologically leading product range for cooling, air conditioning, and ventilation applications, ebm-papst offers a competence center for sheet metal processing.
