ebm-papst location in Xi'an is the world's first RESET-certified manufacturing plant

The ebm-papst site in Xi'an is the first production facility worldwide to receive the RESET certification for high air quality.

After successfully completing a three-month audit period, the location of ebm-papst in the Chinese city of Xi'an becomes the first manufacturing site worldwide to receive a RESET certification. This certificate confirms the high performance of the building's climate control, which is crucial for excellent air quality within buildings.

The receipt of the RESET certification is based on passing both a site audit and a data audit, which confirms compliance with RESET air quality limits for at least three consecutive months. Values such as fine dust content, volatile organic compounds, carbon dioxide, temperature, and relative humidity are included in the assessment.

RESET is the world's first sensor-based air quality standard and simultaneously a certification program for buildings and their interior spaces. Especially in cities with high pollution levels, air quality has long been an important issue; worldwide, the topic has gained increased attention due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Since 1996, ebm-papst has been present in China and currently employs around 2,000 staff locally. The headquarters, which also houses the development center for products for the Asian market, is located in the Waigaoqiao Free Trade Zone (Shanghai). Production facilities are located in Nanhui (Shanghai), Xi'an, and Qingdao. The 27,000-square-meter plant in Xi'an is one of the newest manufacturing sites of the fan and drive manufacturer based in Mulfingen, Baden-Württemberg. It was completed in summer 2019. With this, ebm-papst strengthened its corporate strategy "local for local" and its manufacturing capacity for solutions for the Asia-Pacific market.
