ebm-papst is building at the Lauf site

ebm-papst invests €13 million in the new construction of its site in Lauf and strengthens its location for gear and drive technology.

The ebm-papst Group, a global leader in fans and motors headquartered in Mulfingen (Baden-Württemberg), is investing 13 million euros in a new building at its company location in Lauf near Nuremberg. In 2013, ebm-papst acquired the gear specialist under the name Zeitlauf; since then, the site with around 300 employees has been part of the Schwarzwälder subsidiary in St. Georgen.

In three construction phases, a new administrative building and two production halls will be built by the end of 2019. On Wednesday, October 11, 2017, ebm-papst laid the foundation stone for the 10,000 m² new building, which is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2019.

Stefan Brandl, Chairman of the Management Board of the ebm-papst Group, emphasizes the importance of the site for the corporate group: "Since its acquisition, ebm-papst Zeitlauf has developed excellently, and the order situation is highly encouraging. With this investment, we are strengthening the site and enabling further expansion of our modular and multifunctional drive systems."

In Lauf, ebm-papst develops and manufactures gear parts such as planetary, spur, and angle gear drives for applications in intralogistics, medical technology, and automation technology.

"With this construction project, we are not only improving the general site conditions, such as a modern and inspiring working environment, but also simplifying process workflows significantly, as production and administration will be located in one place in the future."
