Dust binding mats

Minimize the entry of dirt, dust, and particles into critical areas

The use of dust-binding mats at entrances and in sluices to critical areas minimizes the entry of dirt, dust, and particles by employees, visitors, and transport equipment. The adhesive surface of the dust-binding mat absorbs dirt from shoe soles and trolley wheels and does not release it again.

Depending on the application, different types of dust-binding mats are used.

One option is the use of adhesive foil mats, which consist of 30 layers of thin, closely woven polyethylene films, forming a mat only 2mm thick. Each of the films is coated with an adhesive that, upon contact, captures solid particles from shoe soles and transport vehicles. When the adhesive strength decreases, the top film is peeled off, revealing a new layer underneath.

The same principle also applies to the antibacterial adhesive foil mat. The films are coated with a high-performance adhesive that additionally contains an antimicrobial substance. The adhesive captures solid particles upon contact and reliably kills germs.

The third variant is a permanently adhesive dust-binding mat. When the adhesive strength diminishes, the mat can simply be cleaned with a damp sponge. At the moment of wetting the surface with water, the adhesion force breaks down. After drying, full adhesion is restored without any restriction of the adhesive effect. For faster drying, the mat can be peeled off with a rubber scraper. The permanent adhesive mat can also be treated with common disinfectants.

All three types of dust-binding mats make dirt accumulation visible and are thus excellent control tools.
