DuPont Personal Protection expands its range with chemical protective gloves

DuPont Personal Protection (ipp.dupont.com), Luxembourg, has now expanded its wide range of protective clothing solutions to include chemical-resistant gloves. Thirteen models available in five materials, marketed under the brand name DuPont™ Tychem®, cover nearly the entire spectrum of chemical protection requirements.

Analogous to the chemical protective suits from the manufacturer, the first digit in the product name indicates the level of protection: the higher the digit, the greater the protective effect. The glove range includes the following product lines and materials:

- 300 series with PVC coating (abbreviation PV),
- 400 series with Nitrile coating (abbreviation NT),
- 500 series with Neoprene coating (abbreviation NP),
- 700 series with Butyl rubber coating (abbreviation BT), and
- 800 series with Butyl rubber and Viton™ coating (abbreviation VB)

All versions will be available in stores from June 2019.

With the introduction of the protective glove portfolio, DuPont responds to the often-expressed desire of end users for an integrated offering that allows both components to be sourced from a single provider, ensuring optimal compatibility between chemical protective suits and gloves. As with its protective suits, the company also provides extensive permeation data for numerous chemicals encountered in industry to assist in selecting the most suitable product for a given application.

At the same time, the company has revised its online product database DuPont™ SafeSPEC™ (safespec.dupont.de) and added the new chemical-resistant gloves. Using the integrated interactive selector tool, safety officers can quickly find perfectly matched protective suit-glove combinations for their specific application. SafeSPEC™ is accessed by more than 2 million users annually and contains detailed information about DuPont protective products, permeation data for numerous chemicals, product brochures and guides, videos, and case studies.
