Dr. Hönle AG cooperates with lighting expert LEDVANCE on UVC air disinfection as protection against infections

The UV specialist Dr. Hönle AG has been developing and producing UV systems for almost five decades for a wide variety of applications and markets. These include UVC systems for water disinfection as well as surface sterilization. The latter are mainly used in areas where the highest hygiene standards apply, such as in food production or hospitals. UVC disinfection works chemical-free, quickly, reliably – and with a proven disinfection rate of 99.99% on surfaces, highly effective against SARS-CoV-2.

Already at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic in early 2020, Dr. Hönle AG developed the SteriWhite Air Q115, a UVC air sterilizer for rooms with occupancy, an effective tool in the fight against Covid-19. From this device, an entire product family has now evolved to offer suitable solutions for every room size, from waiting rooms and offices to classrooms, hotel rooms, and restaurants. "Our SteriWhite Air Q devices are the missing link in any hygiene concept, as they ensure sterilized air where people gather and continuous ventilation is not possible," explains Heiko Runge, Board Member for Sales and Marketing at Dr. Hönle AG. Without air hygiene, there will be no quick and especially no lasting return to normality. Of course, he hopes like everyone else for a nice summer outdoors without anxious glances at incidence rates. But this could change again in the fall, regardless of vaccination status: "We will have to learn to live with the coronavirus and protect ourselves against new infections, by the way, not only through SARS-CoV-2." Here, UVC air sterilization can make an important contribution.
