The preparations for DeburringEXPO as an in-person event from October 12 to 14, 2021, at the Karlsruhe exhibition grounds are in full swing. The booking status also indicates a successful 4th leading trade fair for deburring technologies and precision surfaces, where exhibitors and visitors can once again exchange ideas in person. The focus is on solutions and information that enable companies to effectively and efficiently meet higher and changing requirements for deburring and surface quality.

Personal contact and the real presentation of products and solutions at a specialized trade fair cannot be replaced. Face-to-face conversations with customers and industry visitors build trust in business development and make product presentations tangible. The exhibitors of DeburringEXPO are therefore already looking forward to the event as the leading trade fair for deburring technologies and precision surfaces. Rightly so, because around 94 percent of trade visitors are involved in investment decisions. And with the rising Ifo Business Climate Index, which reached its highest value since May 2019 with 99.2 points in May 2021, investments are picking up again in industrial sectors such as automotive, mechanical engineering, sensor, medical and pharmaceutical technology, tool and mold making, metal processing, aerospace, as well as environmental and energy technology.

Changing requirements demand adapted solutions

The focus is on solutions that enable companies to meet higher or new requirements for deburring and surface quality. "This need arises, among other things, due to stricter specifications for products or their surfaces, for example through subsequent processes such as joining, coating, sealing, and assembly. Changed manufacturing technologies and materials, such as workpieces made from material combinations, also require adapted solutions for deburring, rounding, and the production of precision surfaces, as well as cleaning the components after these processing steps," reports Hartmut Herdin, Managing Director of fairXperts GmbH & Co. KG, the organizer of DeburringEXPO. The increasing use of additive manufacturing (AM) in series production also impacts surface finishing. Challenges include removing residual powder and support structures, as well as the rough and porous surfaces of additively manufactured components. Further increases in efficiency through process optimization, automation, and digitalization are additional areas companies are facing.

For these challenges, the exhibitors of the 4th leading trade fair for deburring technologies and precision surfaces present corresponding solutions. The broad range is complemented by theme parks "Automated Deburring with Industrial Robots," "AM Parts Finishing," and "Cleaning after Deburring."

The Technical Forum: Knowledge transfer par excellence

An established addition to the exhibition program for knowledge transfer is the integrated technical forum of DeburringEXPO. The lectures, simultaneously translated (German <> English), provide information on solutions to current challenges across all exhibition segments. The program thus has the character of further education and allows visitors to deepen their expertise in deburring, rounding, manufacturing of precision surfaces, and component cleaning. Practical examples and benchmark solutions also provide ideas and inspiration to optimize processes within their own companies.

Partnership with GrindTec

Through the new cooperation between fairXperts and the GrindTec organizer AFAG, the exhibition portfolio of DeburringEXPO 2021 is being expanded for the first time with a joint booth on the topic of "Grinding Technology." This expansion of the offering enables visitors to gain even more effective information along the surface finishing process chain. At the upcoming GrindTec, taking place from March 15 to 18, 2022, in Augsburg, DeburringEXPO will be represented with a joint "Deburring Technologies" booth.
