DeburringEXPO – meets exhibitor and visitor expectations

During the DeburringEXPO, held from October 12 to 14, 2021, as an in-person trade fair, a positive atmosphere was felt from the very beginning. A large part of the approximately 1,100 industry visitors arrived at the Karlsruhe exhibition grounds with specific tasks and a high need for information. This resulted in first-class contacts, high-quality inquiries, and interesting projects for almost all of the 105 exhibiting companies. The opportunity to learn about current trends, latest developments, and best practice solutions in the fields of deburring and precision surface manufacturing in the technical forum was utilized by around 50 percent of the industry visitors.

"For us, it was clear that if DeburringEXPO takes place as an in-person event, we will exhibit and present ourselves as a solution provider for tasks in the areas of deburring and precision surfaces. And it was the right decision, because here we could discuss upcoming projects and their planning with existing customers and generate interesting new contacts. We are therefore very satisfied with the course of the trade fair," concludes Maria Loula, Managing Director of Perfect Finish GmbH. A positive summary was drawn by nearly all of the 105 exhibiting companies from twelve countries after the three days of the fair. 94 percent of the exhibitors expect very good to satisfactory post-trade fair business.

Substantial contacts and inquiries

Not surprisingly, because a large part of the approximately 1,100 industry visitors arrived with concrete tasks for which solutions are being sought. Very often supported by brought-along sample parts or drawings. "This year, fewer visitors came to the trade fair than at previous events, but the quality is very good. Visitors come from very different industries with very specific tasks and projects," explains Michael Striebe, Sales Manager for Gleitschlifftechnik at Röslner Oberflächen GmbH. An experience confirmed by Jaume Miras, Chief Analytics & Global Marketing at the Spanish company GPAINNOVA: "DeburringEXPO is very specific and fits perfectly with the products we offer and what we do. The visitors who come to the fair are looking specifically for solutions. The quality of contacts is therefore excellent. In addition, participating in the trade fair was also an opportunity to meet our customers in person once again." Iris Münz, Commercial Managing Director of ultraTEC Anlagentechnik Münz GmbH, also reports on very detailed and in-depth conversations: "We are not only positively surprised by the number of contacts but also by their quality. There is a really great interest in ultrasonic deburring, and visitors come to us with very precisely specified requirements for specific components." The fact that these are high-quality contacts and substantial inquiries is also evident from the fact that over 96 percent of industry visitors are involved in operational decisions. For nearly 44 percent, the trade fair visit was to prepare or finalize an investment decision. The strongest visitor industries included machinery and plant engineering, the automotive industry, medical technology, metal processing and manufacturing, hydraulics, tool and mold making, as well as aerospace.

Igor Pleis, Sales Manager at ATL Anlagentechnik Luhden GmbH, mentions another aspect that rounds off the positive picture of participation: "Fortunately, DeburringEXPO has remained an active information platform for us. It not only provides a good and quick overview of the innovations, trends, and innovations in the industry but also enables effective exchange with other exhibitors. I couldn't have asked for a better start for a trade fair participation."

The innovative offerings meet visitor expectations

Almost 80 percent of the exhibiting companies presented new and further developments at DeburringEXPO. That the leading trade fair for deburring technologies and precision surfaces also met the expectations of industry visitors is shown by the results of the visitor survey: over 82 percent stated they were very satisfied to satisfied with the offerings. More than three-quarters of industry visitors would recommend the leading trade fair for deburring technologies and precision surfaces to colleagues and business partners.

Knowledge as added value in demand

The simultaneous (German <> English) translated lectures in the technical forum on various topics around deburring and surface finishing attracted great interest. 504 participants used the opportunity to deepen their knowledge. For about a quarter, the forum program was decisive for which of the three days they attended the trade fair.

The next DeburringEXPO will be held from October 10 to 12, 2023, at the Karlsruhe exhibition grounds. Over 50 percent of the exhibiting companies have spontaneously confirmed their participation.
