CWS-boco receives Gold Status from EcoVadis

CWS-boco Germany receives the Gold rating from the international evaluation platform EcoVadis for its ecological and social corporate orientation, the highest award. EcoVadis enables companies to measure their suppliers' sustainability standards across 150 areas and 100 countries.

CWS-boco Germany has faced the comprehensive evaluation criteria of EcoVadis – and has been rewarded: with the CSR rating in gold, CWS-boco ranks among the top 5 percent of the examined companies internationally; in the environmental sector, even among the top 2 percent. EcoVadis assesses suppliers based on a total of 21 criteria across four areas: Environment, Working Conditions, Business Practices, and Supply Chain. This allows companies to make their actions transparent to partners and customers. With this award, CWS-boco Germany also creates added value for its customers' supply chains.

"We managed to improve ourselves within a short period of about a year, upgrading from Silver to Gold. Corporate responsibility is taken very seriously by us. We want to set a good example in the industry," says Carolin Wiegand, Manager of Corporate Responsibility at the CWS-boco Group. The rental service provider of work clothing and hygiene solutions first certified with EcoVadis at the end of 2014 and received Silver immediately.

The company publishes a detailed international sustainability report every two years, highlighting its commitment to people and the environment along the entire value chain. "The concept of reusability is at the core of our business model. We promote long-term use of work clothing and washroom dispensers through rental services. This sustainable approach runs through all areas of our business," Wiegand further explains. CWS-boco's suppliers also commit to establishing comprehensive environmental and social standards holistically. Through training sessions and audits, CWS-boco supports its partners in continuously improving themselves.
