Schülke & Mayr GmbH (schülke) has successfully completed the Ecovadis scoring again as a group and was able to significantly improve its result for 2023: Awarded the Gold Medal, schülke now ranks among the top four percent of companies in its industry.

schülke has set itself the goal of taking a leading role in sustainability issues. With its corporate strategy and the resulting measures, schülke aligns itself with the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) – and is convinced that ecological sustainability always goes hand in hand with social and economic sustainability. With this guiding principle, schülke meets the key requirements for a positive Ecovadis ranking.

What exactly does Ecovadis evaluate?

Since its founding in 2007, Ecovadis has developed into one of the world's largest and most reliable providers of sustainability assessments. The internationally operating platform now evaluates over 100,000 companies across more than 200 industries and 175 countries based on selected benchmarks, making it easier for customers to learn about the sustainable practices of individual companies and compare them.

The methodology for sustainability assessment by Ecovadis shows how well a company has integrated the principles of sustainability/CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) into its business and management system – and is based on the evaluation of a total of 21 sustainability criteria across four areas: Environment, Labor & Human Rights, Ethics, and Sustainable Procurement. The criteria cover all essential CSR aspects, from energy consumption and employee safety to data protection and the environmental and social practices of suppliers. Policies, implementation, and results are examined.

Sustainability at schülke leads to Ecovadis Gold Rating

Schülke & Mayr GmbH has firmly embedded sustainability into its strategy and corporate culture. schülke drives innovation, optimizes supply chains, and further develops the design of its products to continually improve the company's ecological footprint, make energy and material cycles more efficient, and enhance social standards worldwide. A recent example is the mikrozid® universal wipes green line, the first disinfectant wipes from schülke for clinical use, made entirely from renewable raw materials – maintaining high cleaning performance and material compatibility.

Its clear commitment to climate protection was also demonstrated by schülke in June 2022 with its joining the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) and the associated commitment to meet the goals of the Paris Climate Agreement. In early 2023, schülke submitted its concrete climate protection targets for validation by SBTi, and the verification of these targets by SBTi is expected by the end of the year.
