Control cabinet installations for the hygiene area

The modular control cabinet solutions from Bürkert can be installed directly in the system within the immediate process environment.

For fast and secure automation of fluidic processes in the food and beverage industry, Bürkert Fluid Control Systems has developed standardized, hygienic control cabinet solutions with uniform adaptation interfaces that can be delivered quickly, connected, and put into operation.

The system solutions for pneumatics are based on Bürkert valve island types 8640 and 8644 AirLINE Quick, which are installed in hygienic design housings. Bürkert uses three different widths for the control cabinet housings, each with the same height and depth, depending on the space requirements of the necessary components. This limitation offers the advantage of cost-effective standardization and short-term availability, but thanks to Bürkert's coordinated modular concepts, it still provides enough flexibility for individual solutions.

This minimizes the effort in process automation because the proven technology is precisely coordinated and developed by Bürkert with the goal of maximum process safety and plant availability. The complete system solution is delivered ready for connection, tested, and with all necessary certificates and approvals from a single source.

On-site automation

The automation system of type 8614 in the on-site control cabinet according to IP65 combines the advantages of central and decentralized automation. The modular AirLINE Quick valve islands of types 8640 or 8644 used in the control cabinet are very compact and can handle the pneumatic control of all process valves as well as the feedback of a plant. When the automation systems are completed with a standard I/O system, complete process cycles including throughput, temperature, and fill level can be measured, controlled, and managed. Pilot valves can be easily replaced, which is also possible during ongoing operation with the optional P-shutoff. Process safety functions such as check valves in the R+S channel prevent unintentional short blow-offs of neighboring valves.

Standardized and hygienic

The AirLINE Quick adapter plate made of stainless steel allows the valve island to be easily mounted on the control cabinet floor or wall. Stainless steel as the material for the adapter plate, all hose connection parts, and other external interfaces are special features of the Bürkert solution. Naturally, Bürkert also exclusively uses chemically resistant sealing materials.

The AirLINE Quick valve islands are fully pre-wired in the hygienic design control cabinet, as are all other components inside the cabinet. The installation is carried out close to the valves, right in the hygiene-sensitive process environment. This saves material and installation effort and facilitates cleaning.
