New Challenges

These special pass-throughs are used wherever materials, substances, or samples need to be transferred in a controlled manner between cleanrooms, rooms with different pressures, or rooms with varying cleanliness classes. Due to their wide range of applications, pass-throughs are crucial in the daily operations of many companies.

Ortner's Solution: Comfort S6

To support companies in successfully overcoming these new challenges, the Kärntner company Ortner Cleanroom Technology GmbH is now launching the new generation of pass-throughs in 2020 — marking an important and innovative step forward. The Comfort S6 was first introduced at the "Cleanzone" trade fair in Frankfurt in November 2019. The pass-through features numerous innovations and improvements.

Autonomous Ventilation: The new Comfort S6 pass-through is designed as a standalone device with an autonomous ventilation system, eliminating the need for air technical infrastructure. In simple terms: the autonomous ventilation ensures that neither external supply air nor exhaust air is required. This independence significantly simplifies planning and installation compared to conventional systems.

Hygienic Design: The new design primarily scores with one aspect: hygiene. Developed according to hygienic design standards, the new pass-through offers surfaces that are even easier to clean. Technically necessary components are seamlessly integrated into a comprehensive concept. Installation into the wall opening is almost without silicone. Notable features include rounded edges instead of corners and smooth surfaces: there are no handles or protruding control elements.

A rotary movement with a locking function allows easy installation and removal of filters, making filter changes generally contamination-minimized.

Additional Improvements: The standard chamber pressure regulation ensures precise cascade adjustment. The particle- and germ-free air supply and exhaust air intake via end-stage HEPA filters ensure optimal airflow within the chamber. The operation for setting system parameters via WLAN is intuitive.

The new Comfort S6 pass-through has been designed to meet all current requirements of the cleanroom industry. It is an innovative product suitable for numerous applications: in pharmaceutical and life sciences production, chemical sectors, BSL laboratories, and all types of cleanrooms and cleanroom classes. With the Comfort S6, the Villach-based company Ortner Cleanroom Technology GmbH launches the new generation of pass-throughs.
