Relocation of colortronic GmbH production from Friedrichsdorf to Isny im Allgäu.

Historical milestone within the motan group: As of July 1, 2021, Colortronic GmbH will relocate its headquarters from Friedrichsdorf to Isny im Allgäu. The merger of the companies motan and colortronic began in 2006 to leverage the synergy effects in product and know-how. Initially with the motto “The best of two worlds” and with the clear goal of expanding the product portfolio and further growing as a corporate group.

One of the successes in merging the products was achieved by the motan group in 2014 with the market launch of the new conveyor equipment family METRO G. “Looking back, almost all applications of our customers can now be covered by products of the ‘motan’ brand. An important role is also played by the control technology integration into the entire system,” reports Carl Litherland, CMO of the motan group.

Over the past 15 years, the companies have grown together culturally and organizationally into a corporate group. “The integration of the products into the motan portfolio has, in recent years, led to declining sales with colortronic products. The COVID-19 crisis has accelerated this trend,” confirms Sandra Füllsack, CEO of motan holding GmbH.

With the retirement of long-standing managing director Manfred Raith in 2021, the decision was made at the end of 2020 to relocate the company's headquarters. Fortunately, some employees of colortronic agreed to also change their workplace with the company. This ensures that the know-how for important products such as the Ultrablend is not lost.

“Our customers will continue to find their competent contacts worldwide in our sales companies motan-colortronic,” assures Litherland. All products have been further developed in terms of retrofit solutions so that the system can be brought up to date and optimized both through spare parts from colortronic and through further developments under the motan brand.
