The Fronius iWave now offers WIG cold wire components. The groundbreaking innovation lies in their intelligent control. With the patented new Welding Package TIG DynamicWire, even amateurs can easily produce perfect WIG weld seams. Because the dynamic wire control always selects the correct feed speed. The process adapts to the welder, not the other way around!

WIG welding is the king of welding processes and requires skill and years of practice – or does it? "With all the innovations we've integrated into the iWave cold wire components and the matching software solution, WIG welding becomes many times easier," explains Manuel Rumpl, Head of Strategic Product Management, Industrial Welding Solutions, Fronius International GmbH. "Thanks to TIG DynamicWire, the welder can fully concentrate on the arc, and the welding system always adjusts the optimal wire feed speed."

The power classes of the iWave from 300i to 500i can be upgraded to the WIG cold wire system. The Welding Package TIG DynamicWire is immediately ready for use via software activation and can also be retrofitted to existing iWave systems at any time.

Market novelty: active wire control

The innovation advantage of Fronius DynamicWire over conventional continuous wire feeding lies in automatic self-regulation. The welding device actively adjusts the wire feed speed according to the welding behavior, torch position, and current conditions. It even automatically compensates for component tolerances of up to 30%. The result: always perfect weld seams.
Precise and user-friendly

Fronius paid close attention to every detail during the development of the cold wire system to ensure welders can operate optimally with minimal adjustments and settings. The wire feed is set once and remains stable in position thereafter. The holder is particularly lightweight, produced through material-saving aluminum 3D printing. It is ergonomic and flexible in use. The disruptive vibration at the torch handle is eliminated because the innovative cold wire welding process TIG DynamicWire – unlike comparable solutions – operates completely without mechanical forward and backward movement of the wire.

Change tungsten electrode at the push of a button

With the Tungsten-Fast-Clamp-System (TFC), the welding expert Fronius introduces another new patent. A single button releases and clamps the tungsten electrode in the spring-loaded clamping sleeve. Similar to a mechanical pencil, the electrode change takes only a few seconds. This system can now also be mounted on existing torch bodies.

Self-regulating, time-saving, and resource-efficient

In times of skilled labor shortages, the iWave, including cold wire feeding and TIG DynamicWire, supports all WIG beginners or less experienced users in quickly achieving good seam quality. Self-regulating parameter settings and characteristic curves, along with the compensating active wire feed, provide the necessary security and ensure high quality.

Since the wire does not constantly move back and forth during intelligent WIG cold wire welding, wear parts such as the torch body, torch cap, and clamping sleeve are less abraded and last longer than comparable solutions.
