Cold plasma: Efficient disinfection through innovative technology

The CBC PlasmaEgg® is an innovative disinfection device based on cold plasma technology, providing an effective solution for eliminating bacteria, viruses, and fungi. By targeting proteins as well as the RNA/DNA of microorganisms, the CBC PlasmaEgg® enables a completely dry disinfection process without the use of chemical additives.

This results in an environmentally friendly disinfection method, as no waste or chemicals need to be disposed of. Thanks to the omission of water and high temperatures, as well as the extremely low energy consumption, the CBC PlasmaEgg® is a sustainable, cost-effective solution for various applications.

The development was carried out in close collaboration with a spin-off of the Max Planck Institute.

Tested and certified according to the requirements of DIN EN 14885, DIN EN 17111, and DIN EN 16777 for chemical disinfectants and antiseptics, it guarantees the highest standards in terms of effectiveness and safety.

Laboratory tests* confirm the superior disinfection performance of the CBC PlasmaEgg® on non-porous (e.g., plastic and silicone) and porous surfaces (e.g., textiles).

After just 20 minutes, the disinfection device reduces contamination by 99.99 percent (LOG 4). After 60 minutes, bacteria, fungi, and viruses are almost completely inactivated. Even with multi-resistant pathogens, the device works reliably. It destroys the structure of these agents, making adaptation or resistance development impossible.

The portable disinfection device CBC PlasmaEgg® offers a disinfection chamber with a capacity of 1.5 liters. Its portability allows for flexible use in various environments, whether in medical facilities, offices, schools, or other public areas.
