Cobot manufacturer presents latest products live and invites to try them out
Universal Robots at the Intertool and Welding in Wels, Austria
The trade fair duo `Intertool and Welding`, taking place from April 23rd to 26th in Wels, is one of Austria's largest B2B platforms for the manufacturing industry. The world market leader for collaborative robots (Cobots), Universal Robots (UR), is represented with two exhibition booths: in the `Intertool` section at booth 21-0934 and at `Welding` at booth 19-0416. The company invites visitors at both locations to learn about various application possibilities of its Cobots and to try them out themselves.
Latest Robot Models at the Booth
UR is presenting two new models at the Wels trade fair grounds: the UR20 and UR30. These Cobots have been specially developed for heavy loads to make workflows more efficient and safer. To give visitors a lively impression of Cobot applications, the models UR5e, UR16e, and UR20 are available as demo robots at the booths: “We are pleased to be part of these important trade fairs and to demonstrate what collaborative robots can do in manufacturing through our live demonstrations. Interested visitors can directly try out initial programming experiments on the displayed Cobots,” says Andrea Alboni, General Manager Western Europe at Universal Robots.
Cobots Demonstrate Their Capabilities On-Site
UR, together with four co-exhibitors, demonstrates where and how users can integrate Cobots into their production. For example, UR, together with Fischer Robotics & Engineering GmbH, presents a welding application at booth 19-0416. The UR10e is equipped with a power source from the technology provider Fronius International. To make programming the Cobot's job operation easy, the developers have supplemented the graphical user interface PolyScope with a URCap from the Dutch partner WeCobot. Visitors at the fair can see how few steps are needed to set up Cobots for welding. Automation thus becomes affordable for users starting from batch size 1.
Practical applications in machine feeding, palletizing, and quality control can be found at booth 21-0934. The system integrator ECSAD demonstrates how machines are equipped with the UR30. An example is a CNC milling machine with the strongest UR Cobot, where the Made4CNC opening system is also showcased. Stacking smaller boxes with the UR5e demonstrates Robotunits GmbH, simulating intervention in the buffer storage where boxes are temporarily stored between two work steps. Boxes are transported between levels and positioned in front of or beside a Cobot station.
The laser machine manufacturer Trotec Laser GmbH presents the Cobot in material engraving. The UR5e loads and unloads a laser engraving machine with wooden water levels.
How a UR5e checks the quality of surfaces is demonstrated by the partner Konica Minolta Business Solutions Germany GmbH. They showcase their latest imaging technology in cooperation with Rhopoint Instruments. Visitors experience how the solution captures surface and gloss images in high resolution and automatically analyzes quality aspects such as gloss, clouding, color, and texture.
“At the Intertool and Welding trade fairs, the audience will see how Cobots support various processes in industrial production. We warmly invite all interested parties to find out how this can help them in everyday business. Our experts on-site are happy to advise. Our goal is for companies to be able to weld and manufacture efficiently and flexibly despite labor shortages,” says Andrea Alboni.
