Clever technical solution makes the seemingly impossible possible
Effective measures to prevent or reduce harmful microorganisms can make a significant difference even in uncertain times like these, which we are experiencing due to COVID-19.
The trading company Wedl was looking for a solution for their annual in-house fair at C+C Wedl Villach that would allow the event to take place despite the current situation, without endangering the health and safety of visitors, exhibitors, and staff.
To assist, Wedl turned to the experts from Ortner Cleanroom Technology: a renowned company from Villach, operating across Europe, which has specialized for over 30 years in the development and manufacturing of equipment and technologies for industries that require a germ-reduced environment in their daily work.
The technicians from Ortner examined the location of the fair, analyzed it, and devised a solution tailored to the premises. The operating principle of Ortner's systems allows the air in the room to be cleaned through multi-stage filters and the filtered, particle- and germ-free air to be recirculated into the room. Airborne harmful microorganisms, whether in liquid or solid form (viruses, bacteria, germs), are eliminated through multi-stage permanent filtration. The system can clean 25,000 m3 of air per hour.
"With the installed air purification system, a removal efficiency of up to approximately 95% for pathogens and tiny particles is achieved, as confirmed by the conducted particle germ measurements," says Josef Ortner, CEO of Ortner Cleanroom Technology GmbH.
"We are especially grateful for the willingness, quick response times, and above all for an effective yet affordable technical solution from Ortner. Thanks to the installed systems, we were able to achieve hygienic and safe conditions during the fair and actively protect all visitors and staff from contamination. Furthermore, the systems produce little to no noise even when in continuous operation. No drafts occur. The event flow is not disturbed at all by the operation of the systems," says Jutta Mika, site manager at Wedl Villach.
"As an internationally operating specialist in cleanroom technology and decontamination procedures, we are fully aware of our role and responsibility in the current COVID-19 situation. Our long-standing experience and expertise from the cleanroom industry enable us to provide solutions tailored to the current needs of society. We are very proud that our technical solutions can contribute to prevention, contamination risk reduction, and the protection and preservation of human health," concludes Josef Ortner, CEO of Ortner Cleanroom Technology GmbH.
