For current reasons, Kager has been expanding its product range in the field of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for several weeks. In addition to a wide selection of high-temperature work clothing, the trading and consulting company now also offers a versatile face field protection mask. It is certified according to EN 166 and EU 2016/425 and is suitable for use in laboratories, chemistry, process, and engineering due to its chemical-thermal resistance. The face protection mask, available under the product name Kager Face Protector (KFP), can also provide valuable service during overhead work in installation and workshop technology.

It has recently become evident that the newly introduced face protection Face Protector by the Hessian trading and consulting company Kager is an extremely sensible PPE component for many workplaces in industry and crafts. Firstly, the mask, certified according to DIN EN 166 (Personal Eye Protection) and DIN EU 2016/425 (Personal Protective Equipment/PPE), has demonstrated extensive chemical and thermal resistance in numerous tests, making it suitable for use in laboratories, chemistry, process, and engineering. Secondly, many craft and assembly companies have now discovered the Kager Face Protector (KFP) as an effective hazard prevention measure during overhead work – for example, as protection against splashing liquids or falling small parts.

Shape stable up to 60°C

The Kager Face Protector (KFP) consists of a lightweight polypropylene forehead band, a wide buttonhole rubber strap with Oeko-Tex certification, and a large-format face field screen made of soft-elastic PVC. Based on the company's own product range of single- and multi-component adhesives and sealants, Kager's technicians have especially tested the transparent face field screen of the protective mask for its resistance to numerous solvents, thinners, and chemicals. Additionally, the shield of the KFP was exposed to intensive influence from various cleaning and disinfectant agents as well as temperatures up to 100°C. Among other things, it proved to be broadly chemical resistant and remains shape stable up to an ambient temperature of 60°C. At higher temperatures, the material of the shield initially softens but can be reshaped during cooling.

The Kager Face Protector (KFP) is made in Germany and ready to use with minimal effort. It is also suitable for glasses wearers and can be adjusted to different head sizes via the perforated rubber strap. Since it is frameless, it allows unobstructed all-round visibility of the work area. Additionally, the face field mask is very lightweight, so the user hardly notices it after a short period. The clear shield of the KFP is largely fog-free.

Simple application

As part of its use as PPE, the Kager Face Protector (KFP) offers extensive protection of the entire face against splashing liquids and – during overhead work – falling or flying small parts (springs, shims, screws, chips, etc.). It thus provides an easy-to-use and cost-effective contribution to improving health protection at many workplaces in industry, research, and crafts. Just a few weeks after its market launch, numerous laboratories, manufacturing companies, and mechanical workshops have already equipped themselves with it. Furthermore, the KFP can also be used as protection against Covid-19 infection and as an effective supplement to FFP2 respiratory masks. It not only functions as an individual spit barrier but also supports compliance with minimum distancing through its distancing effect. Therefore, it could also prove to be a sensible measure of occupational safety in clinics, doctor’s offices, and nursing homes.
