Cleanzone with strong international participation
The Cleanzone is the international and interdisciplinary trade fair for cleanroom technology in Germany. It takes place in 2017 on October 17 and 18 at the Frankfurt exhibition grounds in Hall 1.2. For the first time, Messe Frankfurt has established a strategy commission that advises on the conceptual development of the trade fair and contributes its expertise. In an interview, Johannes Schmid-Wiedersheim, Head of Brand Management Cleanzone, talks about the trade fair.
1. The Cleanzone has taken place five times in 2016.
How has the event developed?
Johannes Schmid-Wiedersheim: "Since its launch in 2012, Cleanzone has been steadily growing both in terms of exhibitors and visitors. In the meantime, over a third of the trade visitors come from abroad. Among the most important European visitor countries, besides Germany, are Austria, Belgium, Turkey, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Denmark, the United Kingdom, the Czech Republic, and Spain. Cleanzone attracted visitors from practically all industries that produce in cleanrooms or controlled environments to Frankfurt. Our top goal has always been to create a truly international and interdisciplinary platform for manufacturers and users of cleanroom technology, and this has been fully achieved."
We received very positive feedback from the industry regarding Cleanzone 2016 – especially the larger booths and the extensive product range were highly praised. This also confirms the increase in visitor satisfaction with the trade fair's offerings, which rose to 88 percent. By the way, the exhibitor and visitor numbers for Cleanzone are certified and checked annually by the Society for Voluntary Control of Messe and Exhibition Figures (FKM).
2. What priorities are you setting for Cleanzone in the future?
Johannes Schmid-Wiedersheim: "We are firmly convinced that cleanroom technology is a growth market with a future. This is also reflected in the increasing number of cleanrooms worldwide. In many industries such as automotive, food, and medical technology, production in cleanrooms is becoming more common to meet the growing demands for product quality and safety. In other high-tech sectors, the requirements for cleanrooms are increasing due to digitalization, which involves a lot of microelectronics and a constant miniaturization of technical structures, making them more susceptible to contamination."
With these positive market prospects, we want to provide the involved industries with a lasting platform through Cleanzone that showcases current trends and innovations and serves as a basis for excellent conversations and business. To underline our long-term commitment to cleanroom technology, we have already fixed and announced the date for 2018, which will be October 23 and 24."
3. You have recently founded a strategy commission for Cleanzone. What is the significance of this body for the trade fair?
Johannes Schmid-Wiedersheim: "A good trade fair can only be advanced through close exchange with the industry. That is why we established this strategy commission, which advises us competently on the orientation and thematic focus of the fair. The commission includes: Frank Duvernell, profi-con; Josef Ortner, Ortner Cleanroom Technology; Dr. Jürgen Blattner, BSR Engineering Office; Michael Müller, vali.sys; Markus Thamm, cleanroom.de; and Thorsten Schmitt, Siemens. We are very pleased with this support. Together, we want to successfully develop Cleanzone in the coming years and align it with the needs of the dynamic cleanroom market."
