Cleanzone 2018: Safety and Modern Medicine in Focus

The requirements for production purity are constantly increasing, whether in medical technology, the food industry, microtechnology, or the automotive industry. At the international and interdisciplinary trade fair Cleanzone on October 23 and 24, 2018, in Frankfurt am Main, the industry will showcase its innovations for these new challenges and provide industry visitors with guidance through the jungle of standards, guidelines, and terminology.

The trade fair focuses on the topic of safety in cleanrooms and, among other things, highlights digital access controls and anti-counterfeiting measures. Thanks to bio- and genetic engineering methods, targeted therapies and diagnostics are now used more frequently. What requirements modern, personalized medicine and medical technology products place on the cleanroom is another top topic of the fair. Aspects such as process simulation in the cleanroom and the planning of production buildings using the BIM method will also be discussed at Cleanzone 2018. For example, contamination sources can be identified and prevented in advance if airflow is visualized before construction begins. Across all topics, events, and presentations by exhibitors, the drivers of innovation—digitalization and energy efficiency—run like a common thread.

The members of the Cleanzone Strategy Committee, which met in January, described the market opportunities for cleanroom technology as very good. This fresh wind also benefits Cleanzone.
