Cleanzone 2014 concludes with exhibitor and area growth

Exhibitors are highly satisfied with the quality of visitors - the congress's modular concept was well received

On October 22, 2014, the Cleanzone, International Trade Fair and Congress for Cleanroom Technology, closed with 61 exhibitors, representing a growth of 20 percent. The occupied area also increased by 30 percent. 604 industry visitors (2013: 800 industry visitors) from 30 countries traveled to the international trade fair and congress for cleanroom technology in Frankfurt. Due to the pilot strike, about a quarter of the conference participants could not attend. Ruth Lorenz, Head of Technology & Production, explains: “The fact that so many industry visitors still traveled to Frankfurt shows that Cleanzone has established itself in the dynamically growing field of cleanroom technology.”

Frank Duvernell, Managing Director of the Cleanroom Academy and partner of Cleanzone, expressed very positive feedback about the development of the trade fair. He elaborates: “Cleanzone 2014 proved that the concept of the trade fair with its international orientation is accepted across all cross-sectional industries. Within two years, Cleanzone has proven itself as a standalone event. This shows that the market needs this event.”

The exhibitors were very satisfied with the quality and internationality of the visitors. Besides Germany, the top visitor countries included Switzerland, Austria, the USA, Croatia, and Great Britain. But participants also traveled from regions such as the Middle East, Asia, and South America to the trade fair for cleanroom technology in Frankfurt. Visitors came from all application fields, from microtechnology to life sciences. Among others, employees from ABB Automation, Airbus Defense & Space, BASF, Carl Zeiss, DuPont, Fresenius, Heraeus, Merck, Procter & Gamble, Qioptiq Photonics, Roche, Sandoz, Sanofi, and Siemens attended the trade fair. Additionally, representatives from university hospitals, for example from Cologne and Bonn, used Cleanzone to gather information about cleanroom technology.

Hamit Cincin, Regional Key Account Manager at Ecolab, positively evaluates the high quality of visitors: “Cleanzone 2014 was a good trade fair for us. We met business partners and gained new customers. We were also satisfied with the internationality. Even companies from technical sectors showed interest in our products, as combating biological contamination, which impairs product quality, is becoming increasingly important there as well. For example, we received an inquiry from a satellite manufacturer here at Cleanzone.”

Solutions to make the operation of cleanrooms more energy- and cost-efficient as well as more flexible were the focus of the exhibitors’ presentations. In this context, the manufacturers also showcased their innovative products to optimize processes such as clothing, particle measurement, cleaning, climate and ventilation systems, as well as planning. For the third time, the Cleanroom Award was presented by the Cleanroom Academy at Cleanzone. The award went to Initial Textil Service for the cleanroom suit “CleanVision,” which is characterized by minimizing contamination risk, quick donning, and comfort. Visitors at Cleanzone could choose from five products nominated by a high-caliber jury, among other criteria, based on process and energy efficiency.

The new module concept of the congress was very well received. The morning lectures provided beginners with the basics of cleanroom technology, while in the afternoon, speakers addressed experts with their presentations. The modules could be booked individually. Ruth Lorenz summarizes: “With this reorientation, we achieved an optimal integration between the congress and the trade fair. Visitors had the opportunity to inform themselves at the congress and then look specifically for suitable products at the trade fair.”

In the midst of the trade fair activities, industry visitors could experience trend topics and new products at Cleanzone Plaza. The panel discussions on topics such as industry Nachwuchs, entry into cleanroom production, and supplier relationships were particularly well received. The actions at the exhibitors’ booths were also in high demand.

The next Cleanzone will take place from October 27 to 28, 2015.
