Cleanroom suit with replaceable visor sets new standards

Greater applause at Initial Cleanrooms: The company belonging to Rentokil Initial won the Cleanroom Award 2014 with the cleanroom suit "CleanVision," which recognizes groundbreaking developments in innovation, sustainability, and efficiency. "This is a great reward for our years of development work," said Marketing Coordinator Yvonne Weis in an interview with "reinraum-online."

The "CleanVision," developed for use in sterile areas, is, according to her, the first cleanroom suit with an integrated hood and replaceable disposable visor. "With this, we set new standards in product protection and particle retention. The zipper located between the legs allows the entire suit to be put on in less than a minute and a half. "Compared to the usual five to ten minutes, this means significant time and cost savings," said Yvonne Weis, especially since the suit offered for lease is almost as expensive as conventional cleanroom clothing consisting of coveralls, boots, hood, and cleanroom glasses. While the suit is washed and sterilized again, the visor, equipped with a special anti-fog and anti-scratch coating, is a recyclable disposable item.

The trade fair team from Initial Cleanrooms received the award from the hands of last year's winner, Paulo Santos from the Portuguese company Laborial, which was awarded for developing a touchscreen embedded in a glass table. "The award has helped us a lot to make our 'Blautouch' known," said Santos. Frank Duvernell, whose Cleanroom Academy annually awards the €3,000 prize at Cleanzone, already called on companies to apply for the Cleanroom Award in 2015. "Our goal is to promote innovations," he said.
