With the Robot Transfer Unit (RTU) based on the Clean Room System ONE, Rollon offers space-saving technology for precise positioning with high dynamics in cleanroom environments. The modular travel solutions meet the highest standards of hygiene, performance, and reliability and can be tailored precisely to the customer's specific application. An ideal solution for medical technology and the pharmaceutical industry.

As a specialist in linear motion systems and a long-standing partner of the medical technology and pharmaceutical industries, Rollon understands the industry-specific challenges precisely and develops linear travel axes that fully meet the high cleanroom requirements. The Robot Transfer Units (RTU) are characterized by low particle emissions and are certified for cleanrooms of class 1, offering a wide range of corrosion protection treatments. They also score with high repeatability (0.05 mm) and enable travel speeds of up to 5 m/s as well as accelerations of up to 50 m/s².

Clean Room System ONE: Certified for Cleanroom Applications

The basis is the Clean Room System ONE. The product family includes linear axes specifically developed for use in cleanrooms. They are made of aluminum and stainless steel and are designed so that no particles can enter the environment in which they are installed. The drive is via a high-quality polyurethane timing belt with AT profile. The linear axes are corrosion-resistant, low-maintenance, and require minimal lubrication. This ensures a 100% clean application.

The Clean Room System ONE is available in four sizes (50, 65, 80, and 110). The maximum stroke is 6,000 mm (except for size 50, which offers a maximum stroke of 3,700 mm). By simply connecting multiple profiles, the length of the travel axes can be extended arbitrarily, thereby increasing the reach of the robot or cobot almost infinitely. The modular mechanical system includes all necessary components as well as extensive accessories and allows for quick and easy assembly.

Laboratory Automation with Travel Axes

Whether handling samples, containers, tubes, or test materials, manufacturing syringes, vials, and contact lenses, transporting materials between different machines, or more efficient order picking: Rollon’s Robot Transfer Unit takes laboratory automation to the next level. It combines the best of robotics and linear technology, opening up new efficiency potentials. The robot or cobot is versatile, the linear axis achieves higher speeds, and has a larger reach. Combining both provides the versatility of the robot while allowing it to be assigned to multiple workstations in an economical way. Applications with long cycle times particularly benefit from the additional degree of freedom. Essentially, the greater the required reach for the process, the more the user saves by combining a robot with a linear axis compared to two or more individual robots.

The cleanroom-compatible travel axes are suitable for all robots or cobots—regardless of manufacturer or robot type—and can automate smaller and medium-sized robots or cobots for movement and transport. A particular expertise of Rollon lies in custom adaptations. All solutions are designed individually and tailored precisely to the respective application.
