CHINAPLAS 2026: BOY impresses with precision and compact solutions in the growing Chinese market

CHINAPLAS 2026 (21–24 April 2026) has once again established itself as one of the world’s most important platforms for the plastics industry. Dr. Boy GmbH & Co. KG, together with its Chinese representative Andeli Co., Ltd., can look back on a successful trade fair appearance. The company welcomed an international trade audience and impressively demonstrated its expertise in the field of compact and high-precision injection moulding technology.

High-calibre visitors and international interest

The trade fair was characterised by a strong international presence and the high professional calibre of the visitors. In addition to numerous prospective clients from China, trade visitors from Asia, Europe and Australia also took the opportunity to network. Particularly encouraging was the high proportion of decision-makers, technical managers and engineers from the fields of medical technology, electronics and precision injection moulding. Many discussions were project-specific and demonstrated concrete interest in investment.

Focus on live demonstrations

The centrepiece of the exhibition stand was two machines: the BOY XS E and the BOY 25 E.

A medical application was demonstrated live on the BOY XS E: the production of a resorbable surgical clip weighing just 0.105 g. This application highlights the BOY machine’s strengths in micro and small-part injection moulding, particularly in terms of precision, repeatability and cleanroom suitability.

The BOY 25 E demonstrated its capabilities in the production of high-precision small parts, including a  tendon sheath screw for dispensing insulin cartridges weighing just 0.093 g. Here too, the focus was on accuracy, process stability and the processing of demanding materials.

Market trends: Quality is becoming increasingly important

Discussions at the trade fair confirmed a clear trend: whilst the traditional mass market remains heavily price-driven, demand is growing for high-quality, reliable and energy-efficient machinery, particularly in sensitive sectors such as medical technology.

Overall, the market is cautiously optimistic. Rather than simply expanding capacity, many companies are focusing on technological upgrading to reduce waste and optimise production processes.

An overview of technology trends

CHINAPLAS highlighted the issues currently driving the industry: miniaturisation and micro-precision, sustainable materials and the circular economy, as well as intelligent, data-driven production processes. The medical technology sector, in particular, is developing rapidly and places high demands on machine design and process reliability.

Compact design as a competitive advantage

A key reason for the interest in BOY machines is their compact design. This offers decisive advantages, particularly in the Chinese market, where production space must be used efficiently.

“A large market like China requires machines with the smallest possible footprint to enable highly efficient production. With our BOY XS E, which requires just 0,87 m² of floor space, we were able to demonstrate this impressively and convince many visitors of our concept,” explains Florian Schäfer, Team Leader / Export Project Manager.
