Chillventa 2018 was a complete success. All key figures of the fair increased significantly once again. +10% to 35,490 trade visitors, approximately +4% to 1,019 exhibitors, and last but not least, a 2% increase in area. It was thus the largest Chillventa of all time. From October 16 to 18, 2018, it transformed the Nuremberg exhibition grounds into THE industry meeting point of the international refrigeration, air conditioning, ventilation, and heat pump community. On October 15, the day before the fair, Chillventa CONGRESS convinced the professional world. The high-quality conference also set a new record with 302 participants (+20%).

"We are very pleased with the excellent results of Chillventa 2018. After ten years, Chillventa 2018 with 1,019 exhibitors from around the world once again sets a real milestone. The record participation of trade visitors completes the picture: 35,490 guests attended Chillventa. But it was not only the numbers that convinced the industry, but above all the excellent atmosphere in the halls. Experts met with experts. This once again underlines Chillventa's role as the most important meeting point of the international cooling industry with the segments of climate, ventilation, and heat pumps," said Daniela Heinkel, Event Director of Chillventa, NürnbergMesse.

Chillventa international leading trade fair

The internationality of Chillventa among exhibitors and visitors has always been high. This clearly shows how globally the industry is structured. On the exhibitor side, two-thirds come from abroad. The top five countries are Italy, China, Turkey, Spain, and France. In the top 10, there are also the UK, the USA, Belgium, the Czech Republic, and the Netherlands. The situation is similar among trade visitors. Significantly more than half of the 35,490 Chillventa guests came from all over the world to the Nuremberg exhibition grounds.

"With the significant increase in exhibitors and visitors, both nationally and internationally, Chillventa underlines its position as the world’s leading trade fair for refrigeration technology," said Richard Krowoza, Member of the Management Board, NürnbergMesse.

The trade visitors are very satisfied with their Chillventa

The importance of Chillventa is also reflected in the high proportion of decision-makers. Eight out of ten trade visitors stated they are involved in purchasing or procurement processes. 98% of visitors are satisfied with the offerings of Chillventa. The strong commitment of the industry is also evident in the intention to participate in Chillventa 2020. Nine out of ten said they would visit the next Chillventa again.

Exhibitors praise Chillventa 2018

The atmosphere in the full exhibition halls of Chillventa was excellent again this year. Experts met with experts and engaged in dialogue. This positive image is also supported by the independent exhibitor survey. 94% of the exhibiting companies stated that the event was a success for them. Around 95% were able to establish new business contacts, and nine out of ten expect post-show business. Even during the event, nine out of ten exhibitors confirmed they would exhibit again in 2020.

Chillventa CONGRESS, as well as the technical forums in the halls, offered in-depth insights into current industry topics. "In over 200 lectures over four days and at seven different locations, conference participants and forum visitors could thoroughly inform themselves about the industry with components, systems, and applications for refrigeration, air conditioning, ventilation, and heat pumps," explains Dr.-Ing. Rainer Jakobs, technical advisor and coordinator of the Chillventa technical program. In 2018, the focus of the fair, technical forums, and CONGRESS also included the Internet of Things (IoT), IT security for refrigeration systems, implementation of the 42nd BImSchV, current climate goals, ECODesign, refrigerant recovery and recycling, F-gas regulation,
efficiency through control, innovation in heat transfer, data center air conditioning, heat recovery, and system solutions for chilled water.

Special presentations for practical expertise

Both special presentations at Chillventa also impressed the industry. Visitors received a good dose of expert knowledge at the special areas on "Hygiene in air-processed heat exchangers" and "Heat pump: A key technology for successful energy transition".

Chillventa AWARD awarded

The Chillventa AWARD was announced for the second time in 2018. The awards were ceremoniously presented to the winners on the first day of the fair.
