In hardly any other industrial sector are the hygienic requirements as high as in the production of chemical, biotechnological, or pharmaceutical products. Due to the particular sensitivity of the production processes taking place here, utmost purity and control of process-critical environmental parameters are important. In this context, the ambient air ranks first and requires appropriately high-performance cleanroom and air conditioning equipment. Because the circulating airflow fulfills several tasks at once: To supply the production halls with fresh air, both the intake air must be filtered, and the exhaust air, which may be contaminated with pollutants, must be transported away and cleaned. The contamination arises from an accumulation of organic and inorganic substances in varying compositions and concentrations. These mixtures can also be explosive, so suitable protective measures are necessary.

The CamSafe housings from Camfil live up to their name. The gas-tight welded CamSafe housings offer comprehensive safety when it comes to capturing radioactive, toxic, or bacterial particles and gases. Their application areas are therefore laboratories, clinics (operating rooms), or pharmaceutical sectors.

Combined, multi-stage systems can be realized that filter volumetric flows of up to 24,000 m3/h. The external surfaces in the standard version are made of 2 mm thick steel sheet and coated with decontaminable epoxy resin in the color Pure White (RAL 9010) or made of stainless steel (CrNi steel).

Safe & Reliable

In the CamSafe series, each filter housing features a maintenance bag shelf, allowing filter changes to be carried out with minimal contact and contamination. The CamSafe housings can be equipped with particle or molecular filters. Thanks to a quick-release device, the seal of the filter is pressed against the contact surface. The newly installed filter is brought into a tight fit with the help of an automatically tensioned pressing device. Optional features include pressure measurement points, a pressure equalization device, and a device for leak testing according to KTA 3601. Furthermore, the CamSafe series impresses with the wall-mounted version for installation, for example, in cleanrooms, as well as multi-stage housing designs and versions with manual filter scanning devices.

Before each CamSafe delivery, Camfil performs a leak test and a permeability check of the housings. In general, the CamSafe housings comply with leak class 3 according to ISO 10648-2 at ± 6,000 Pascals.

The testing procedures:

1. Mechanical strength:
Class D2 – EN 1886:2008

2. Local and general leaks:
Class C – EUROVENT 2/2
Class L1 – EN 1886:2008
Class 3 – EN 10648-2
Class D – EN 12237
ISO 14644-3
