CAITRON introduces 1.65 kg lightweight cleanroom tablets of the CT 12S series
IP69 and GMP compliant
CAITRON expands its cleanroom portfolio with Tablet PCs from the CT12S series for companies in the pharmaceutical and chemical industries. With the lightweight design of the stainless steel cases, Caitron sets new standards for mobile Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs) in hygiene-sensitive environments.
The CT12S series is technically based on the Microsoft Surface Pro tablet. The devices are dust- and water-resistant according to IP69 standards and meet the requirements for GMP production areas. This combines Windows PC functionality with the advantages of mobile devices, making them ideal for a variety of industrial cleanroom applications.
Lightweight overall and unrestricted camera functionality
The Caitron tablets of the CT12S series impress with a total weight of only 1.65 kilograms for the tablet including the stainless steel case, as well as unrestricted camera functionality. "With the CT12S series, we have succeeded in maintaining the mobility advantages of a tablet thanks to its light weight and bringing it into cleanroom environments," says Andreas Hirt, CEO of CAITRON GmbH. "The heavier the device, the less attractive and suitable it is for mobile applications. Therefore, it was extremely important for us to stay well below the 2-kilogram mark with the CT12S series. At the same time, we designed the device so that users can fully utilize both the front 5-megapixel camera and the rear 8-megapixel HD camera despite the stainless steel casing. The tablet is therefore ideally suited for image documentation, for example, of sampling procedures."
Numerous input and ergonomic options
The Caitron tablets of the CT12S series can be operated with cleanroom gloves as well as with a stylus. Furthermore, the tablets can be connected to peripheral systems such as keyboards, mice, or barcode scanners. As additional components, special wall mounts and docks are available.
The stainless steel casing of the CT12S series tablets is fully enclosed, free of edges and dead spaces, and resistant to industry-standard cleaning and disinfectant agents. This ensures efficient cleaning over many charging cycles. Charging and data transfer are carried out via an innovative GMP-compliant magnetic connector of the USB-C type, which features a corresponding cleanroom cover.
Optional services
For companies with Microsoft enterprise agreements, it is possible to procure the Surface Pro tablets independently under their negotiated favorable framework contract conditions. CAITRON then handles their conversion for cleanroom use.
