Cadolto realizes new laboratory building for the Technical University at the Straubing campus
Turnkey handover took place nine months after contract award
At the TUM Campus Straubing for Biotechnology and Sustainability, a new laboratory building was constructed for the Technical University of Munich. Cadolto was commissioned in October 2017 to plan and realize the project using modular construction. The handover to the client took place just nine months later.
The new building has a gross floor area of 1,135 m² and offers seven new laboratory rooms for research and teaching, each approximately 72 m² in size. The professorships for "Microbiology" and "Organic Chemistry and Microreaction Technology" are housed on the ground floor and the first upper floor of the new laboratory building. Two laboratory rooms are designated for practical training.
The project was planned in collaboration with architect Dipl. Ing. Simone Lochbihler, Munich. The new construction was produced with a high degree of prefabrication and equipped with the latest laboratory technology in the manufacturing halls in Cadolzburg. The 22 modules for the new laboratory building were transported by truck to the construction site. Finally, the remaining laboratory equipment was installed.
