Cadolto constructs office and seminar buildings for the Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg using modular construction

The Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg is expanding its existing building complex with an office and seminar building. The modular construction specialist Cadolto was commissioned to construct the newly planned building W37, which is scheduled to be handed over to the client as a turnkey project by summer 2021.

The building, designed by architects Simon - Exner - Kersten, Oldenburg, covers a gross floor area of 920 m² and will consist of a total of 57 modules. The new building will serve as a traditional office building and will be connected to the emerging building W38, which will be constructed partly in modular and conventional construction methods.

The placement of the modules was carried out in three phases and has now been completed. Up to 20 modules were assembled per day, equivalent to one floor. The remaining work on site will follow immediately to complete the building.

Speed, quality, and experience: these are the factors that play a decisive role for the Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg and were key reasons for awarding the contract to Cadolto. Especially the short construction period in which the office and seminar building is realized was a significant consideration.
