Building automation in complex infrastructures – a multifaceted insight from two experts
Extensive information, deep insights into the pharmaceutical industry, and numerous practical examples ensure a successful specialist conference at the Höchst Industrial Park.
"Building automation in complex infrastructures," was the motto of the joint event organized by Neuberger Building Automation GmbH and Infraserv GmbH & Co. Höchst KG in Frankfurt am Main. More than 80 guests accepted the invitation of the two pharmaceutical specialists and gathered on September 26, 2017, at the Peter-Behrens-Bau in the Höchst Industrial Park.
Infraserv Höchst, as the operator of technically demanding infrastructures and partner for companies primarily from the chemical and pharmaceutical industries, along with Neuberger, a highly qualified provider of products and solutions for building automation and the pharmaceutical industry, jointly hosted the lecture series for the first time. The successful collaboration of the two organizers created an interesting mix of presentations, insights, and knowledge transfer.
After a brief welcome to the participants and guests, each of the two organizers was introduced. For Infraserv Höchst, Rouven Lorch (Head of Facilities Services) and Andreas Goeres (Head of IT-Facilities Services) provided information about the company and the Höchst Industrial Park. Klaus Lenkner (Managing Director, Neuberger) then followed with his lecture "Control Technology Without Limits," focusing particularly on energy efficiency through building automation, GMP-compliant products, and solutions for cleanrooms and healthcare from Neuberger. Markus Blankenberg (Infraserv) explained the migration of different control techniques/automation systems in a plant-neutral building management system, illustrated with a real-world example for practical relevance.
The similarities between Infraserv Höchst and Neuberger in the pharmaceutical sector were also reflected in the following two presentations. Jürgen Ortlepp (Head of Tank Storage and Quality Management) provided an extensive insight into the regulatory environment of sensitive facilities with his lecture "GMP-compliant Operation of Pharmaceutical Production Facilities." After the lunch break, Markus Schmidt (Neuberger) first explained the general concept of mapping and then demonstrated the process of a mapping project, from planning and setup, calibration of equipment, to GMP-compliant documentation and clear presentation of measurement results. The day was rounded off with a tour of the Höchst Industrial Park. The approximately 4.6-square-kilometer industrial area is one of the largest industrial parks in Germany.
"The interplay between infrastructure and building management is becoming increasingly complex," said Klaus Lenkner, Managing Director of Neuberger. "With this joint event, we provided a detailed insight into the cooperation between Infraserv and Neuberger — true to our motto 'Everything from a single source,'" Lenkner added.
