Benefit from practical knowledge
Nora Systems also offers training courses on rubber flooring in 2014
Providing comprehensive support and expert advice to customers outside of current construction projects is part of nora systems' self-image. Therefore, the Weinheim-based rubber flooring manufacturer has been offering a wide range of training courses for many years – for architects and planners, flooring installers, and recently also for project managers and cleaning service providers. From now on, interested parties can register for the seminars in 2014.
Technical Consultation for Installers
Uwe Bauer, Head of Application Technology at nora systems and responsible for installation and cleaning training, reports a high level of interest in nora events: “Our seminars are regularly fully booked.” How are rubber floor coverings properly installed, and what should be considered when preparing the substrate? How can installation errors and resulting claims for defects be avoided? Answers to these and other questions are provided to installers at the two-day installation seminars at the nora training center in Weinheim. The focus is on practical execution and processing. Under expert guidance, participants learn to install rolls, tiles, and profile systems efficiently and without errors. Additionally, comprehensive explanations and tips are provided regarding the verifier’s inspection obligations, floor construction, environmental aspects, and disposal. The installation training also includes the TÜV-certified, environmentally friendly floor construction system nora system blue: nora application technicians inform about the proper installation of low-emission rubber floors with low-emission installation materials. A tour of the production facilities rounds off the event.
Tips for Cleaning Service Providers
In buildings with high public traffic, the flooring is subjected to constant stress. Additionally, cleaning—especially in hospitals—often requires adherence to specific hygiene guidelines, posing a challenge for project managers and cleaning service providers. The nora application technology team is also available here to offer advice and support. In 2014, there will be eight cleaning seminars in Weinheim. “Many participants initially have very basic questions,” reports training manager Patrick Pfeifer-Heike. “They want to know, for example, how to distinguish between different types of elastic flooring, which cleaning agents are best suited for each type, and whether rubber floors really do not need to be coated.” The application technicians demonstrate, among other things, how stains from colored skin disinfectants can be easily removed from uncoated nora floors and provide tips for repairing damaged surfaces. There is also significant interest in cleaning with nora diamond pads during the training sessions. These allow rubber floors to be mechanically cleaned and polished—using only water and without any chemicals.
Workshops for Architects and Building Owners
For architects involved in planning industrial and research buildings, nora systems also offers specialized training sessions. “The demand for such offerings is high,” say Kathrin Kutter and Christian Fleuren, market segment managers for industry at nora systems, responsible for the seminars. When planning production facilities, laboratories, or research institutions, topics such as the dynamic load capacity of the floor system, electrostatic discharge capability, chemical resistance, or the suitability of materials for cleanroom environments play a central role. “The terms antistatic, insulating, dissipative, and conductive are generally not part of architecture studies,” explains Fleuren. “When is what needed? Can antistatic also be dissipative?” Questions like these are clarified in workshops at architectural firms. Fundamental topics are discussed as well as individual, project-specific questions.
