The Benediktbeurer Cleanroom Days on June 1 and 2, 2022, mark the 19th annual gathering of the industry – and the first after a long interruption due to COVID-19.

On June 1 and 2, 2022, cleanroom experts and users will have the opportunity to gain an up-to-date overview of trends from various user industries, establish and deepen business contacts during the Cleanroom Days in Benediktbeuern, Upper Bavaria. The engineering firm Dittel Engineering, together with the Rosenheim Plastics Institute, invites to the conference at the Benediktbeuern Monastery, where 18 speakers and around 100 industry representatives are expected. This is the 19th edition of this meeting of the cleanroom technology industry in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland – and something very special: after a long break, these are the first cleanroom days to take place, a fate that all events and trade fairs have faced due to the pandemic.

The long pause starkly contrasts with the increased importance that the expertise of industry specialists has gained during the contact-reduced period. Previously considered a niche sector serving hygiene and industrial process quality, cleanroom technology has become part of everyday life for the general population since the COVID-19 pandemic. Everyone wears masks, discusses HEPA air filters or UV fans in schools and workplaces, cares about hygiene concepts, and expects disciplined compliance. Ultimately, the importance of a “clean” environment has increased in many areas of life.

The years of heightened sensitivity to the COVID-19 virus have changed the world and, not least, the cleanroom industry. The production of sterilized disposable items alone has increased multiple times. Customers from increasingly more industries are compelled to establish controlled process chains and ensure product quality. These developments are reflected in the conference program. It offers participants comprehensive information and discussion of trends in cleanroom technology. In the “Applications” segment, cleanroom experts from medical technology, aerospace, mobility, and their assistance systems, as well as sterilization procedures, will report. Subsequently, planning experts will focus on the design of projects, buildings, interior spaces, and suitable lighting systems. In the “Guidelines and Standards” segment, participants will learn about the differences between the old and new Annex 1 of the industry-specific GMP regulations, as well as the perspective of supervisory and approval authorities represented by the Bavarian government.
