Bavarian Innovation Award for the Schreiner Group

Together with Coldplasmatech GmbH, the Schreiner Group developed this high-tech product based on printed electronics and made it suitable for mass markets. The goal of the development was not only to treat chronic wounds but to heal them. This is possible with this unique product.

Festive Award Ceremony of the Bayern Innovation Prize: Dr. Ulrike Wolf, Director General at the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs, presents Thomas Köberlein, the division manager of Schreiner ProTech, with the prestigious award.

For an outstanding innovative and technologically complex product development, the Schreiner Group received the Special Jury Award at the Bavarian Innovation Award. Dr. Ulrike Wolf, Director of the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs, presented the prestigious award for the medical device "Coldplasmapatch," also known as CPT®patch. This is a high-tech dressing for wound treatment based on printed electronics. It generates cold plasma, which kills multi-resistant bacteria, promotes cell regeneration, and can thus heal chronic wounds—even those previously considered incurable. The Schreiner Group realized this innovative product together with the medical technology company Coldplasmatech.

Over 100 specialists at Schreiner Group are solely involved in product development—always closely aligned with customer needs and at the same time very successful: Schreiner Group has filed over 100 patents and is often the preferred development partner for numerous international corporations in healthcare and mobility. The Coldplasmapatch demonstrates outstanding results—even with wounds classified as untreatable under conventional therapy. The technology is based on insights from plasma physics, realized through printed electronics, and developed on behalf of and in collaboration with Coldplasmatech GmbH. Through highly professional manufacturing in a roll-to-roll printing process at Schreiner Group, the product has been made suitable for mass markets. "Our CPT®patch and the associated personalized therapy with cold plasma have the potential to sustainably revolutionize the wound market," says Dr. Carsten Mahrenholz, founder and managing director of the partner company Coldplasmatech GmbH. The Bavarian Innovation Award has been awarded every two years for the past ten years as a joint initiative of the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs, the Bavarian Chamber of Industry and Commerce, and the Working Group of Bavarian Chambers of Crafts.
