B. Braun sells TETEC AG to Canadian specialists Octane Medical

TETEC specializes in regenerative medicine and has developed two products with NOVOCART, which treat cartilage damage in the knee through autologous cell cultivation. B. Braun has already been working with Octane Medical in the USA for over ten years. Now, the Canadian specialist in regenerative medicine has fully acquired the company, including approximately 160 highly specialized employees at the Reutlingen site.

The TETEC AG was integrated into the B. Braun Group through its Tuttlingen-based surgical division Aesculap. In the future, Aesculap will focus more strategically on innovative medical technology related to surgical procedures in the operating room, making regenerative medicine no longer a part of the company's portfolio. "We are very proud of the impressive achievements our highly qualified employees have accomplished over the past years, and we are grateful that we could contribute to protecting and improving the health of patients in need of cartilage therapy," says Dr. Jens von Lackum, who is responsible for the Aesculap business on the B. Braun Executive Board. "Looking ahead, we are pleased that the product and manufacturing know-how is now consolidated with Octane and forms the basis for even more patient-oriented innovations. We are convinced that our long-standing partner Octane and its employees have great potential to further expand the business and make NOVOCART products available to even more patients."
