When Productronica opens its doors in Munich on November 14th, the automation specialists from PIA will also be there: In Hall B4 at Stand 424, the company will showcase the full range of automation solutions for efficient electronics manufacturing.

A key focus for PIA at the trade fair is automated cable processing: PIA offers customized special solutions for assembly tasks with high cycle rates and flexible cable lengths. PIA also provides suitable solutions for downstream processes such as connector assembly and circuit board handling. At the trade fair stand, the company will demonstrate how, among other things, connectors, terminal blocks, plugs, switches, or sockets can be produced efficiently and with consistent quality on PIA systems.

Such solutions play a key role in electromobility and trends like autonomous driving: For example, the demand for high-voltage cable sets or cables through which a multitude of data is exchanged is increasing. "Cable assembly is a growing market, especially for electromobility. Our goal is to shape this market and excite our customers with highly flexible, efficient solutions," says Johannes Strasser, Managing Director of PIA Amberg. Not only is the market for electric vehicles continuously growing – the Federal Motor Transport Authority registered nearly 87,000 new vehicles in August alone – but also the variety of models. This means higher demands on the production systems for these components: they must meet high standards of precision, quality, and safety.

At Productronica, PIA will present, in addition to cable processing, other solutions that enable customers to automate the production of key components for electric vehicles. These include high-voltage charging connectors and low-voltage connectors needed, among other things, for displays or radar systems. Hybrid modules, electric drives, or battery systems can also be manufactured on PIA systems.
