1993 to 2013: 20 Years of ISPE - DACH (Germany - Austria - Switzerland): April 18/19, 2013 in Hamburg

In the past 20 years, there have been many changes in the pharmaceutical work environment: medication, processes, regulations, and working methods; changes have been our constant companions in the pharmaceutical industry.

This anniversary workshop aims to look from today into the future, going beyond the usual specialized workshops to cover a broader scope. ISPE is offering an exciting insight over these two days into what drives us today in our work and what will continue to motivate us in the coming years. And it enriches this with trends and many practical examples. For this purpose, speakers have been invited to share reports and lectures from practice: Ulf Schrader (McKinsey, POBOS) will deliver the keynote speech. He has been dealing with trends in the pharmaceutical industry for several years and has published several books on the subject. He analyzes the performance of the top 30 pharmaceutical manufacturers and introduces forward-looking ideas in his presentation. Several speakers will address trends, including Professor Fernando Muzzio (Rutgers University/USA) on the topic of Continuous Processing. All speakers will describe these trends and share their own practical experiences, motivations, successes, and, of course, the challenges in implementation. The trends discussed in the presentations include: new manufacturing processes, continuous processing, internationalization, project efficiency, reduction of lead times, OEE analysis and improvement, at-line analysis, operational excellence key figures, and loss minimization. One presentation will focus on the topic 'The Authority, how and where does it perceive these trends?'

Together, we will look beyond our own industry at the rules and trends in civil aviation, which is also a regulated industry. An aviation expert will share insights from the field.

A visit to the technology company Fette Compacting GmbH is part of the program: technologies for tablet production will be made visible and tangible. A 20-year anniversary come-together celebration at the Hamburg port, with an organized evening program, networking, engaging conversations, and many contacts, will provide an interesting social framework for the anniversary event.
