Andrea Alboni, General Manager Western Europe at the cobot pioneer Universal Robots (UR), is now a member of the board of the VDMA Robotics Division. With this, the industry association has brought on board an experienced expert in collaborative automation. "I am very pleased to work together with VDMA to advance the development of the rapidly growing automation industry," explains Alboni.

Automation for companies of all sizes

The new board member aims to place a particular emphasis on human-robot collaboration. "In modern production environments, humans and machines work hand in hand," says Alboni. "This is the key to ensuring long-term competitiveness. This applies to large corporations as well as medium-sized and small businesses. In my new position, I want to help further reduce existing barriers to entry into automation so that companies of all sizes can benefit from the advantages of collaborative robotics."

The Robotics Division is part of the VDMA Robotics + Automation Association. More than 340 member companies from assembly and handling technology, industrial image processing, and robotics belong to it. Its focus areas include trade fair policy, standardization, and industry networking. With an annual turnover of 12 billion euros, the industry is considered a pioneer of manufacturing digitalization.
