The new ANAREX gas analyzers from smartGAS offer a high-performance, highly accurate, and customer-specific configurable measurement solution for industrial gas measurement technology. They cover a wide range of measurable gases and impress with reliability, precision, and ease of handling. ANAREX gas analyzers are applicable in process measurement technology, emission measurement, fruit ripening storage, and everywhere where the safe monitoring of gas concentrations is crucial.

The ANAREX product family combines highly accurate stable measurement performance, intuitive operation via touchscreen, and simple sensor calibration. The ANAREX gas analyzer is designed as a multi-gas analyzer and is delivered ready for connection in a plug-in housing for 19-inch racks. A manual flowmeter on the front regulates the correct gas flow. The measurement values can be read in real-time on the 5.6-inch LCD touchscreen and transmitted via an RS232 interface and an analog output. Initially, two gas measurement combinations are offered on the European market: CO2 (0...20 vol.-%) combined with CO (0...1000 ppm), and CO2 (0...5 vol.-%) combined with O2 (0...25 vol.-%) and Ethylene (5...1000 ppm). Further multi-gas sensors will be added according to customer needs with a short time-to-market.

The best gas sensors combined

The measurement basis of the ANAREX gas analyzer is high-quality smartGAS sensors, such as the SILAREX series, which can determine up to three gases simultaneously based on the NDIR measurement principle. Depending on the desired gas combination, they can be combined with other sensor types. For example, PAS sensors based on photoacoustic spectroscopy can be added to determine organic ripening gases like Ethylene in fruit ripening. Another option includes paramagnetic or electrochemical sensors for oxygen determination. If needed, up to five gases can be measured with three sensors in an ANAREX gas analyzer. The internal software manages zero-point and end-point calibration to ensure perfect measurement accuracy. The optical NDIR gas sensors from smartGAS are based on the principle of non-dispersive infrared absorption (NDIR). They combine measurement accuracy with long-term stability and ease of handling without compromising performance. Due to their principle, NDIR gas sensors are also characterized by high selectivity, low detection limits, a broad temperature range, short response times, and very low drift.

Highly selective even at low gas concentrations

For controlling fruit ripening processes and monitoring the supply chain, organic gases like Ethylene (C2H4) must be measured with high precision at very low concentrations. Besides the well-known NDIR sensors, photoacoustic spectroscopy (PAS) is excellent for this purpose and can also be integrated into ANAREX gas analyzers. The PAS sensor delivers highly precise measurements thanks to its very high selectivity and exact spectral detection of the respective gas, even at the lowest C2H4 concentrations.

The PAS sensors measure Ethylene concentrations in a range from 5 to 1,000 ppm with an accuracy deviation of 1% ±1.5 ppm. The PAS sensor features very low zero-point drift (<1.5 ppm in 24 hours) and automatically compensates for water vapor cross-sensitivity to influence values below 5 ppm. The PAS sensor is designed for 24/7 operation and can be very easily integrated into the 19-inch racks of the ANAREX due to its compact design.

Numerous sensor combinations possible

For determining oxygen content in the measurement gas, a paramagnetic sensor can also be integrated into the ANAREX gas analyzer. The paramagnetic sensor utilizes the paramagnetic susceptibility of oxygen. Alternatively, a classic electrochemical oxygen sensor can be used.

Examples of typical gas measurement combinations that can be determined with customized ANAREX gas analyzers include landfill gas (CO, CO2, CH4, O2), process gases in the cement industry (CO, CO2, O2, NOx), pest control agents (CH3Br, SO2F2), waste incineration gases (SO2, NO, NO2, O2, CO2), or CO2 in TOC measurement. For the development of a customized ANAREX gas analyzer, smartGAS offers joint project and customization development. The customer thus receives a fully ready-to-connect sensor system that is optimally tailored to their requirements. Other application areas of ANAREX gas analyzers include fruit ripening and storage, environmental protection measurements for air quality control, exhaust and process gas analysis, landfill monitoring, or gas detection in tunnels.
