Analytik Jena introduces a new series of variable pipetting heads for the CyBio FeliX liquid handling platform

Analytik Jena, a globally leading provider of automation solutions and analytical measurement technology, presents an advanced pipetting head, the new SELECT Head. The new module for the CyBio FeliX Liquid Handling Platform is even more flexible, accelerates workflows such as Hit Picking and normalization, and simplifies complex transfers. With the SELECT Head, the CyBio FeliX becomes a solution for fully automated sample preparation.

The replaceable CyBio FeliX pipette heads – the heart of the CyBio FeliX Liquid Handling performance – are now complemented by the new SELECT Head series. The new CyBio FeliX SELECT Head with its 8 independent channels can process 8 different wells with just one tip change. Additionally, each channel of the SELECT Head is completely volume-independent. The SELECT Head aspirates 8 different volumes of sample and diluent in a single transfer, enabling rapid normalization of samples to the correct concentration and volume.

Up to 8 times faster in Hit Picking, normalization, and pooling

Labor-intensive processes such as Hit Picking, normalization, and pooling are up to 8 times faster than with a single tip. You can pick up to 8 hits, normalize 8 samples, or combine multiple reagents in a single smooth movement without changing tips. Bottlenecks in the liquid handling workflow, such as slow pipetting, are thus reliably avoided.

Ready-to-use applications

The new SELECT Head also simplifies complex transfers by enabling execution directly from CSV files, freeing laboratory personnel from complicated programming. The workflows include basic data processing and reporting, as well as options such as custom processing and calculations.

With a volume range of a total of 1 μL to 1000 μL, the CyBio FeliX SELECT Head family is designed for a wide range of applications. The customer selects the head with the optimal range for their application.
